I wanted to fly
but the cliff in front of me was scary.
Compromising with myself,
I repeated moving forward and then retreating.
What I needed was
not a plausible appearance,
but a healthy mind and unwavering courage within.
What I should have been paying attention to was
not the gazes and judgments of others,
but the direction my heart truly desired.
Just wanting to be a good person,
I swayed in the wind of compromise with the world.
That's how I lost my true self.
I had to live as myself, not as a bystander or observer, but
as the protagonist.
Not as a bystander in my life, but
as a leader, I had to live boldly.
Don't try to be good.
Don't strive to be loved.
I have the right to choose in life.
I just need to live as myself.
That's all.
